Telaga Emas - Update

20th August 2010
Piling work seems to go on without caring for those effected and this time, we make another call to MPSP to complain but this time, this complain came back with an explanation. MPSP said that this project, Telaga Emas, has been approved back in 2007 but we only manage to get the OC in 2009, so, procedure wise, we do not have the rights to complain at all. Is this kind of explanation make any sense to you? The letter of informing us on this project which we got on 21st July 2010 was actually to ask us whether we have any objection to their change of building plan or otherwise and not to object to the building itself.

Well, one thing for sure, at this stage, we can't really stop them from building the tall 'statue' but we can still fight for our survival by making sure they change their method in doing the piling as well as making sure the hygiene and safety of people living around the area are well taken care of. It's not easy but it has to be done.

As this point of time, emails, letters as well as phone calls have been barraging MPSP offices together with other political members in the vicinity. A meeting will be done and we will send our message over to them (Telaga Emas Developer) that earning money does not only mean building a 'statue' as you like but also need to take care of the environment as well as the people effected by the project.
