Telaga Emas - Update

14th August 2010
On the 21st July 2010, we receive a letter from MPSP (Majlis Perbandaran Seberang Prai) regarding the project Telaga Emas by AIRMAS Development Sdn Bhd which is going to be built exactly (parallel)  beside our building/apartment Vista Bay. This letter is actually a notice that MPSP will normally send to every home or property which is neighbouring to the project being built. This letter also serve as a medium to all neighbours to object to the project if it really hamper our daily lives as well as violates any visible regulations. In order to object, one must provide all the details or evidence to back their case up and when the time they are being called for a meeting, they should be able to speak out and find a win win situation with all parties involve.

According to rules, once a developer submit their request or building plan to have it approve by MPSP, the local council would need inform and ask all the neighbouring people of this project to know whether they have any objections. If there is, MPSP would need to call a meeting to discuss and find out the best way out for this objection so that everyone would be happy on the matter. Until a meeting is called, the project is actually still pending for approval and therefore, developer should not start in building work on the so call project site. No construction vehicles should be moving in or out the place and certainly no heavy machineries as well as construction materials being place there as well.

Well before the dateline for us, JMB Vista Bay Apartment, submit our objections, clearing of the building site as well as materials moving in are clearly visible already. Contractors as well as staff from AIRMAS Development are clearly well placed in the building site to monitor their progress but question is, have they gotten the approval from local council to go ahead on this? Come 9th August 2010, the day I submitted the objection letter to MPSP, I received a call and to my surprise, they told me that the piling work on the site has started. The shaking of our building could be felt immediately and the tremors to some are unbearable. Many call us up to complain on this matter and without any hesitation, we called the local council to complain stopping short of calling the police. We are not really to have this kind of tremors being started at our ears and we certainly not sure whether our building can withstand this so called minor earthquake centering 50ft away. MPSP said they are wrong from what we have commented and from what we have seen but they will still need to carry out investigation on this matter. By end of the very same day, this irresponsible developers/contractors manage to hit in 2 concrete cylinders into the soil. By following day, they have stop their work and right until now, there is no piling work has taken place but that does not mean we are going to sit here and pretend it did not happen at all. This episode will definitely won't go down well in their history and surely not in their resume. We are going to bring this up in every possible meeting with anyone who are interested to know about this be it the local council or even local politicians.

Our fight will go on and we can assure the developer beside, we have many eyes watching over you and a slight mistake would cost you more than you can bargain for.
